We do not own nature, but borrow it from future generations. That is what indigenous people believe. They respect nature as it provides them with food, cultural identity and livelihood. But due to climate change they see their environment changing rapidly. ‘We have exploited nature for too long and now it is hitting back hard.’

Description

For centuries, reindeer have been central to the Sami people’s existence. They follow the rhythm of the animals, the seasons and fertile grazing grounds, and provide for their livelihood from the yield of meat, fur and antlers. But due to the climate crisis, the reindeer are literally getting too hot under their hooves; they are arctic animals and cannot survive in higher temperatures.
