Nepal – Climate change affects the entire world, but some areas are hit harder than others. Upper-Mustang, high in the Nepalese Himalayas, is one such place. Here the indigenous people of the Loba fight against a lack of water and thus the survival of their unique culture. How can they survive and at what cost?
Lhakpa Wangdi Mustangi, Loba from Upper-Mustang: “Due to the reduced rainfall and snowfall due to climate change, water sources provide little or no drinking water and water for irrigation. Riverbeds are dry, our fields are bare and dusty. The survival of our age-old culture, our way of life, is seriously threatened.”
