We do not own nature, but borrow it from future generations. That is what indigenous people believe. They respect nature as it provides them with food, cultural identity and livelihood. But due to climate change they see their environment changing rapidly. ‘We have exploited nature for too long and now it is hitting back hard.’

Description

About 2000 people live in Lo Manthang (Nepal) and its surroundings, who mainly live off the produce of the land. In this desert-like terrain high in the Himalayas (3800 m), fertile land is hard to come by. Duet o the climate crisis their traditional way of life is under pressure as the younger generation is leaving the villages or trying to make an income in tourism.
